Bosworth Water Trust

Bosworth Water Trust is a 50-acre leisure park with 20 acres of water sports. The lake is used for sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and available to group bookings & fishing. Day and season tickets are available for the lakes. There is a caravan and camping site located on the side of the waters edge, with washing and shower facilities for all who are camping.

Bosworth Water trust is situated on the B585, half a mile west of Market Bosworth, Warwickshire.

Bosworth Battle Field Heritage Centre and Country Park

Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre and Country Park is a unique day out for all the family.  Witness re – enactments of the famous 1485 battle between King Henry Vll and King Richard lll.

Situated in attractive fields and woodland you may follow the Battlefield Trail with footpaths linking the Heritage Centre to Cheney Wharf on the Ashby Canal and Shenton Railway Station the Shackerstone Railway.

Located close to the market town of Market Bosworth, 5.5km north from Hinckley and 19km from Leicester.

Twycross Zoo

Twycross Zoo opened in 1963 on a site in Leicestershire.  Initially a comparatively modest collection, it has grown into one of the major British zoos, attracting over 450,000 visitors a year.  It is famous for its collection of primates.

Situated near the small village of Twycross, the zoo occupies over 40 acres and is set in open countryside.  Despite its rural location, it is only four miles from the M42/A42 (which links the M1 and M6 making it readily accessible from anywhere in central England.

Shackerstone Steam Railway Battle Field Line

The Battlefild Line Steam Railway is in the village of Shackerstone.  The line follows the Ashby canal for a good part of the journey, passing through countryside and alongside small villages and farms.  Arriving at Shenton you can then explore the Bosworth Battlefield Country Park before returning back to Shackerstone.

Mallory Park Racing Circuit

Mallory Park is situated in Kirkby Mallory Leicestershire and is renowned as being on of the best circuits for spectator viewing in the country. It has a natural amphitheatre with grassy banks that overlook the circuit giving first class views of all the action. Market Bosworth and Britain In Bloom

For a stunning annual display of a town in full bloom Market Bosworth excels in both content and quality of floral displays and dedication by the local team. With an array of winner’s titles and finalist positions it brings the town to life and is truly a sight to behold each year.
Display construction begins early may and the flowers last through to September.

Square One Bistro with its alfresco dining on the outside tables is the perfect place to view the flowers to unwind, relax and take in Bosworth with all its beauty.

 

Market Bosworth Country Park

Situated at the very entrance to the Historic Town, Market Bosworth Country Park offers a wealth of beautiful scenery and an abundance of countryside walks.

The landscaped 35-hectare park was formerly part of Bosworth Hall deer parkland.  There are fine, mature trees, a lake a planted arboretum with exotic species, a wildflower meadow and a community woodland along with a children’s play area.
There are large open grassed areas for picnics, toilet facilities and fishing by permit is allowed at the lake.

 

Market Bosworth Festival

Market Bosworth Festival is an annual event with the aim to promote art, music and drama in and around the picturesque town of Market Bosworth Leicestershire.

A superb programme of arts, crafts and drama events are taking place between 21st – 28th June. A full day of activities and entertainments are due to take place on Saturday 21st June within the main market square in front of Square One Bistro and a Lark in the Park family day on Sunday 22nd June.

Festival highlights will include - A Classical Concert with Orchestra of the Swan in St. Peters Church on sat 21st June, A Shakespearian drama “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by Hearbreak productions on Wednesday 25th June and “Mercury” a tribute to Queen in concert at the Battlefield on Sat. 28th June
